The Stuff about your Stuff is NOT about your Stuff.
What the what???
What's the meaning behind the things that we hold on to? If we can articulate the importance, we can address those feelings and take actionable steps on what to do with that item.
For me, this looked like holding onto my dad's sweatshirts. They make me feel like he's there, giving me a big hug. But this didn't mean that I needed to keep ALL of his sweatshirts. Once I understood why I was keeping them, I felt empowered to decide what to do with all of them.
Are you sorting through items that hold meaning for you, and struggling to decide what to do with them? Our team is ready to help you sort out the emotions behind them and decide what's best for you. Visit https://theorganizingmentors.com/contact/ to schedule a free consultation and see if we're a good fit for you.
After family was able to take what they wanted, it was easy to get all the donations packed up…

One of my favorite ways to share my passion in helping people clear their mental and physical clutter is through speaking engagements. Do you know of any groups who would benefit from hearing how The Organizing Mentors can bring calm to the chaos? Reach out to me. I'd be happy to speak at your next event!

Debbie, one of the Team Mentors, participated in this year’s National Day of Service with her BNI.
They completed 68 projects for ‘D’, a military veteran and she couldn’t have been more excited, humbled, appreciative and surprised. Her face was priceless when she grab hold of the rails on her front steps and said, “I can finally walk into my house on my own!” They were able to walk Donna through her “new/renovated” house at about 7:30 pm on Friday and not only was she overwhelmed, but her family kept telling us to make sure we thanked all of you for all the hard work and effort you put into their house. There were so many participating this year that even the Prince William County Police wanted to know what was happening and took time out of their day to present ‘D’ with a challenge coin from the Police Department and thank her for her service.

More of my day
Very productive day today decluttering my clients home .
My favorite part of a move into a senior community
I love Mr. C
He let me video us as we went through his utensil drawer… let’s see how many spatulas he has!
The Organizing Mentors is about INNER transformation as much as OUTER transformation. When we work on the reasons why you hold onto your stuff, the healing and change begins first on the inside (where it can’t be seen). As we implement The LITL System, we begin to create changes within you that ripple out to create changes within your home. It may not be a color-coded home, but it will be a reflection of YOU and the healing you’ve accomplished.

Persistence
The Someday Syndrome
Ask the right questions…
We all have the capacity to act persistently. But putting it into practice is easier said than done. Why? Because emotional overwhelm on the inside can lead to chaos on the outside. The results of clutter can be overwhelming.
Persistence can be the answer, but you don’t have to do it alone. I’ve made a career out of finding out what gets in people’s way when it comes to clearing the daily emotional and physical clutter. My team and I are here to help.
Reach out to us so we can help you hit the reset button on your space. Then you’ll be ready to practice persistence in keeping your space clutter-free! This tip and others like it are available in my book, “17 Spatulas and the Man Who Fried an Egg.”

A “Mindfulness” journal study revealed that having a clean space results in good mental health in several ways. Clearing clutter helps reduce overstimulation, enhances mood and concentration, enables us to feel a sense of control when we are stressed, and reduces anxiety. Have you seen this play out in your own life?
If you need help uncovering these results for yourself, schedule your FREE consultation today.
