Fall is a favorite season. From a lighting perspective, your lights on tree lines and ornamental trees will begin to change. That what is fun about good lighting. What was a leaf covered crape myrtle is now a beautiful silhouette of the beautiful exfoliated bark of these trees.

Path lights...you either love em' or hate em'. Myself? they have their place and if done well, they look great. Most of what people dislike about them is that they never look straight and the landscape people are constantly knocking them over. Here is the solution that I recently did to resolve the issue and it is simple. Your lighting installer will be happy to do it for you. The state is typically 10" to 12" long and the lamp stem is about 22" to 24" tall. Dig a hole deep enough to have 1" of the stem below ground level. The hole should be 6" to 8" in diameter. Place the light into the center of the hole, add quick drying cement to the top of the stake being sure to keep the power cord free of the concrete, add water. Be sure that the lamp is level and upright by putting a small level on two sides of the stem. Add soil to the ground level and either seed or sod above it. Polish the lamp with a soft cloth sprayed lightly with WD40 and, viola, the lamps will always be upright and straight and tough to knock over. You could also add decorative stones around the lamp so that a string trimmer never touches it. Happy to help! www.beautifulnights.us
